[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir cette image] Have you ever wanted to own the big bug from Men In Black? You can, in theory, at the end of May.

Rick Baker, a special effects make-up and creature creator who has worked on dozens of movies from The Exorcist to Maleficent, is auctioning off his private collection of props and makeups. The actual event will be on May 29th in Los Angeles, but pre-bidding online has begun. The auction will feature 417 items from fifty films that Baker worked on and is a “no reserve” auction, so everything starts at $5.
Baker isn’t quitting the biz, he just downsized his company Cinovation, moved it to a new site and sold off the building it was in. Because of the sudden lack of storage space, Baker figured he’d offer up the majority of his collection to fans of his work and general appreciators of practical effects in movies. He partnered with The Los Angeles Prop store to bring the auction to everyone.
If you aren’t tempted just by the prospect of owning movie history, or considering buying just to touch something made by Rick Baker, click on over to the interactive catalog and prepare to start drooling at just how amazing this collection is.
Like Lot 40 – the entire Harry muscle suit from Harry and the Hendersons with mask, hands and feet:

You’d have to buy Lot 43, the animatronic head worn by actor Kevin Peter Hall for closeups, to really complete the effect of having Harry in your house, but maybe you could if you’re lucky. That’s the fun and horribly addictive part of collecting rare memorabilia from movies at auction. All so you can wear an expensive bigfoot suit around the house. But: it’s the actual Harry suit, so in the end it may be worth it. Just don’t take it out of the house either way, you either got something valuable at a steal or paid thousands of dollars for it, so keep it safe!
If bigfoots from movies you haven’t seen aren’t for you, maybe you would like to own Michael Jackson’s face?
It will be auctioned off in life cast and Moonwalker metal face variants:

[Vous devez être inscrit et connecté pour voir cette image]If you can’t read the description it says: “the hands can be seen just before Michael Jackson transforms into a robotic spaceship”
You could literally (and morbidly) get posthumous high-fives from Michael Jackson. That’s what this auction is offering you.
If cute and cuddly is the way you want to go, something from Gremlins 2: The New Batch might be more tempting. I know all the Gremlins aren’t cute and cuddly in the movie, but Mogwai are cute and robots are cute, so Mogwai robots are, like cute squared.

Baker has made a name for himself making a lot of apes over the years, from the Tim Burton Planet of the Apes to Gorillas in the Mist. If you ever wanted to own a high quality ape bust (or are the single fan of Tim Burton’s Planet of the Apes), this auction has a lot to offer you.

If I had to pick something to bid on, my comic-book lovin’ heart would have to choose the Hellboy prosthetics kit and the magnetic mounted horns. Because I’d look the coolest sitting around my house.
