XIN XIANJIAN QIXIA ZHUAN Walkthrough
By Oleg Roschin
Prologue The prologue sequence is very straightforward. Simply continue along the way, fighting those pesky little demons or ignoring them, as you wish. This part is primarily made for you to get acquainted with the battle system, although it is important for the story as well. You are so powerful that you shouldn't worry about your health. At the end of the passage, meet the mysterious female demon. Don't try to win here: you can't. Just keep attacking until you are killed. You will then wake up in your room and have a short conversation with your aunt.
The Beginning of the Journey Go out of your room and there will be a scene with the guests. Go downstairs and talk to your aunt. Talk to the drunk who is blocking the entrance door. Go to the kitchen, talk to your aunt, and take the dinner from the table. Bring the dinner to the room with two guests (upstairs). Go back downstairs and talk to the drunk again, then select the wine from your inventory and use it. There will be a scene with the drunk. Go back to your aunt and she will give you money.
Now go out and explore the village. Take the exit at the lower right, and in this new area find Zhang (he is standing on the pier). Talk to him, then go back, and a girl will tell you something is wrong with your aunt. Now, go back to the inn (where you started the game), and visit your sick aunt. After that, talk to the bearded guest, and he will tell you about the medicine. Go back to the pier and talk to Zhang again, he will take you to a new area with his boat. Proceed through several screens to the lotus pond, fighting enemies if you wish (you don't get money from them yet, but you do gain experience points). At the lotus pond, travel around on those lotus plants, and in one of the chests you'll find a hammer. With this hammer, break each and every statue you see (except the big one near the entrance) - simply stand in front of it and select the hammer from the inventory. Once you have broken all of them, the flowers will float to create a path for you. Go back to the entrance and take the flower there to access this path, then proceed.
At the new screen, first go down and proceed until you trigger a very nice cut scene with the girl. After the scene, go back, and this time go straight towards the house. There, search the house (you can restore your health in one of the rooms), then talk to the girl. Try to go out and you'll be stopped by the grandmother. After a scene, talk to Ling'er, then leave the house and go all the way back to the boat, then back to the inn. Stand in front of your aunt and select the medicine. A scene will follow. During the night, use the secret exit (on the floor) from your room to go outside of the house and the village (northern exit, which was previously blocked). Follow the path. You start earning money from battles at this point. At the top, you will see a deserted hut. Search it, try to leave it, and there will be a cut scene with the Wine Wizard. Afterwards, it will be morning. Leave the hut and return to the inn.
Your room will be blocked, so use the secret entrance to get inside. Touch the bag and a cut scene with Ling'er will follow. When you go out, you will be attacked. Dispatch the enemy and go to Ling'er's house (via the boat) again. Find the grandmother, and after the scene, go back to the inn. Once you go inside, you'll be attacked immediately. This boss is not very difficult, just use Li Xiaoyao's technique and Ling'er's elemental magic, healing when necessary. After the battle, there will be a scene with the aunt. Walk around and talk to Ling'er, then there will be again a conversation with the aunt. Then go to the harbor and talk to the ship captain, to travel to Suzhou.
A New Friend Not far away from the harbor you'll see a scene, with a following fight. Try to leave the area, and the girl will call you. Try to leave again, the girl will shout again, go back and fight her. After the battle, pick up the sword and you can finally go to the city. Go all the way to the right and enter the back room of the inn restaurant, you'll witness a scene and will have to fight once again. After the battle, there will be yet another scene. Talk to Ling'er, go back to the middle of the town and take the upper path, which leads to the palace.
There is a tournament there, talk to the guards and then simply walk near the fighters. You'll be taken to a one-on-one fight against Yueru. After you win, her father will invite you all to his palace. In the palace, walk around, and talk to Yueru (she is in the upper room in the western part). Exit the room and Ling'er will appear, talk to her too. Then go one screen down and talk to the father, a cut scene will follow, so go back and to the lower western room. There will be short cut scenes on the way. Walk through the new opening and continue, very soon Yueru will join your party. Continue to the snake cave.
This is your first real dungeon, the enemies get progressively harder, until you meet giant brown snakes against whom you absolutely must use your special attacks, and who can also harm you seriously. They also give lots of experience, so fight them and level up. The cave is long, so prepare for many similarly-looking passages. Finally, you'll arrive at the snake palace entrance, guarded by the demon snake. This is the first challenging boss battle, especially because Yueru cannot be compared to Ling'er as protective character. This boss also heals himself, which is a pain. Unleash your most powerful attacks and better heal with items, MP-restoring items are quite helpful. After the battle, continue to the palace. Go to the right and be sure to prepare for yet another boss battle, this time against the queen! She is even harder than the previous boss, she can put you to sleep, cast a powerful thunder spell, and heal herself very effectively. Fortunately, she will also waste her turns on summoning weak flies and weak physical attacks. Once again, don't be shy on casting your best offensive spells, and heal your MP and HP with items. After the battle, pick up the key near the throne. Go all the way to the left and use the key on the locked door. Before going through, talk to every girl in the palace. Now you can proceed to the clearing and the village (down and right, across a bridge).
In the right-most house of the village, you'll see Ling'er in the back room, and a conversation with the doctor will follow. Go out and talk to the boy who is preparing something, to the left of the house. You'll be in control of Yueru. Now you must go all the way through the snake cave back to your father's palace. This is one of the most annoying parts of the game, just try to avoid the enemies to spare time. The way back seems shorter. When you finally arrive, there will be a scene, and you'll be in control of Li Xiaoyao.
Now, on the other hand, an interesting part begins. You must find the three ingredients the boy told you to get: fish, deer horns, and apricot. First, go into the blacksmith's shop and talk to the blacksmith, he'll give you a fishing rod. Go to the river near the entrance, you'll see a wooden pier, go the edge and select your rod, you'll automatically catch a fish. Now exit the village and head north, talk to the old man and the young hunter. Go one screen up and find a deer trap on the ground. Locate and try to catch the deer several times, finding out where he runs each time. Put your trap on a spot you think the deer will run over when you scare him next time. This might take several attempts. After successfully catching the animal, you'll automatically receive the horns. Go back to the western part of the village and continuously search the path behind the large house; you'll find an apricot on one of the trees. Talk to the boy who needs the ingredients, and you'll automatically receive the medicine. Go to the room with Ling'er and use the medicine on her, she'll join your party.
The Dens of Evil The other exit from the village (previously blocked by a guard) is now open once you talk with the guard. Continue north all the time, and you'll trigger a battle against a tiger. Afterwards, continue to the Buddhist temple. After several conversations, talk to the old monk in front of the statues. This will trigger two fights against moderately strong enemies. Try to leave, and you'll enter a battle with the old monk himself. I found this battle much easier than the snake battles. No wonder, as you now have three people in your party. Have Ling'er cast protective magic on everyone if needed, use your strongest one-target attacks, and heal with Ling'er when necessary. The monk will summon one or two other monks, better ignore them and concentrate on the main opponent. After the battle, there will be a scene. Leave, go south, and then northeast.
You are now in an abandoned village. Most of the undead monsters here give pitiful experience, so try to avoid them, with one exception: one of the green dots turns into three brooms, fight those brooms for excellent experience and money. To make them re-appear, just enter the nearby house and exit it again. This is a very good opportunity to level up. When you feel you are ready, go northwest to the cemetery. Unfortunately, those brooms don't appear there any more. The cemetery consists of several screens connected by a fairly linear path. Continue through, and you'll arrive on a square with stairs leading down. Take those stairs.
You find yourself in a huge maze. Your characters appear very small here, which is a great help for navigating the maze, but it is nevertheless quite complex. Wander around the maze and step on all the switches to open doors. The enemies are all undead, and they still give you little experience. You'll have to go up and down many times to complete the maze, until you finally emerge in front of the general's tomb. After a short cut-scene, there will be a boss battle. After the battle, you'll wind up in a lava dungeon. Walk around and step on round switches to connect all the bridges. This dungeon is much shorter and simpler than the maze before, but the enemies are more powerful. Once you reach a clearing, there will be another boss battle. Both this and the previous one are much easier in my eyes than the snake battles, just use your most powerful attacks and heal with Ling'er. You'll get an item after the battle which allows you to exit the dungeon, use it and you'll be teleported to the maze entrance.
Run back through the cemetery to the village, and visit the house where you found Ling'er before (western-most house). Talk to the guy there and he'll send you on a new mission. Exit the village, and instead of going north or northeast, like you did before, turn west. You'll reach a mountain cave entrance, and fight an easy battle against two guards. After that, enter the cave. Another double dungeon awaits you. The first is a series of cave passages interrupted by a couple of clearings. The enemies here are all human, give mediocre experience (still less than the brooms before), and can be defeated or avoided easily. Finally you'll reach a mountain path which leads to a house with two entrances. The right one eventually leads (through the second, relatively short maze-like dungeon) to a room with a locked door and a single chest. Try to open the chest, and you'll trigger a battle. You cannot win this battle, so spare your items. After you lose the battle, there will be a scene, and Ling'er will leave the party.
The Thief of Yangzhou Continue through the back door, and you'll wind up outside. The enemies seem more dangerous, because without Ling'er you are much weaker. Thankfully, this area is very short, after just a couple of bridges you'll be in a more peaceful area with easier enemies, and eventually the path leads to the town of Yangzhou. I suggest buying new weapons and armor in the local shops before heading to your room in the hotel (in the western part of the city). There will be a short cut-scene in front of your room, and another one after you enter it. Go out of the room and a battle awaits you. This battle shouldn't be taken lightly: if you are not properly equipped, you must heal almost every turn, since the enemy's fire attack is quite dangerous. After the battle, follow the woman into the opening to the roof.
The roof passages form another dungeon, very small and simple compared to what you have seen until now. The enemies give decent experience and aren't difficult to defeat. Follow the roofs until you meet the woman again, and fight her. The battle is exactly the same as before, except now the boss has two regular enemies to help her. As before, be careful and heal often, and you'll probably defeat her even before you run out of MP. After the battle, it will be morning. Continue a bit to the west and descend from the roofs. Go back to the hotel and into the room with the guest who was robbed. Stand in front of the guest and select the newly acquired bag from your inventory. After the scene, go north and into the house with a yard (just under the wall where you fought the woman). After the conversation with the woman, Yueru will leave you for a short while. Follow her up onto the roofs, and there will be another scene. Descend and go into the well which you just saw the woman inspecting.
The well leads into the sewers, another very small and linear dungeon. It leads to a hall with lots of treasure chests, which contain some pretty good items and armor. After you touch the pink object which is surrounded by chests, there will be a scene. When the judge orders to beat you, select "yes" (selecting "no" will just lead to more beating). You'll wind up outside the court room, without Yueru.
Go to the house you've met the suspicious woman before, and step on a differently looking panel to open a secret door. This door leads to the sewers you have visited before, simply retrace your steps, and near the well entrance the evil woman already awaits you, and you have to fight her for the third time. She fights just like before, but unfortunately, you only have Li Xiaoyao now. Cast protective shield on yourself, use your strongest heal spell when you need it, dispatch of the regular enemies with a couple of multi-target attacks, and then attack the boss with your strongest single-target attack. If you pay attention to your health, the battle is not that tough.
After the battle, there will be a scene, and Yueru will join you again. Go to the northern exit and talk to the guards, they will now allow you to pass. Follow the path until you meet a guy who will ask you to join you, say "yes" and you'll get some money. Continue and you'll trigger a scene with the old master. Inspect the dead body and walk along the path until you reach a cave with a girl guarding it. Talk to the girl, then enter the cave. The cave looks a bit like the tomb maze (your characters are small), but it is much shorter and simpler. Continue until you reach the girl. After the conversation, exit the cave and re-enter it. Go to the place where the girl was standing, and continue through the dungeon. Very soon you'll reach the girl, and will have to fight a boss battle.
This battle is not as easy as it looks in the beginning. Even though the enemies don't have any powerful attacks, they can poison you so heavily that you will take about a hundred points damage every turn from various poisons. Using poison-curing items doesn't help much, since every attack of the beast inflicts poison status on you again. First, concentrate your attacks on the woman, she'll go down pretty quickly. The beast can really take lots of damage, and you'll probably run out of MP, so use MP-restoring items, ignore the poison status, heal when necessary, and use your strongest attacks to defeat the beast. After the battle, exit to the left.
Demons and Love Soon you'll see a little house, enter it and there will be a scene. Exit the house and talk to the only survivor of the battle. Now, continue along the path and enter the town. Go to the pier and talk to the boy near the boat, you'll be automatically transported to another section of the town. Go into the palace, and there will be another scene. Exit to the lower left and explore the garden, in one of the houses you'll find Liu lying on the floor. A scene will follow, and you'll be automatically transported to the dining room.
Exit the palace and explore the city, you can even go to a brothel (as Li Xiaoyao alone) if you want to. In the southern part of the city, there is a house with a girl standing in the middle of the room; give to her the bag you have found earlier for a new item and technique. Then talk to the beggar near the bridge, select "yes", and after the conversation, talk to him another time and select "yes" once more. This leads to a loss of money, but unfortunately, you have to do this to trigger the next event.
Return to the palace and there will be a cut scene, after which you'll fight Yueru's father. The battle is very easy, just hit him several times and he will stop the battle himself. After the battle, visit Liu again, and you'll witness a scene. Exit the house and go south, there will be another scene. Talk to Mrs. Liu two times, you'll get money. Exit the palace and visit the tavern (the nearest house to the palace). Go upstairs and talk to the doctor there, he'll demand payment, select "yes". After that, you'll be automatically transported into the palace for another scene.
Go out and you will see the inhabitants of the palace are all sleeping. Exit the palace, and just outside you'll notice a body in the water. Approach the body and touch it, you'll recognize your teacher, the Wine Wizard. He tells you he needs four ingredients. Three of them can be found in the palace, you should thoroughly search every corner (not including the garden). The fourth is wine; if you have it in your inventory, the next conversation with the Wine Wizard will trigger a scene (provided you have found the three other items). If not, you'll have to buy wine in the tavern, from the guy behind the counter, and then talk to the Wine Wizard.
There will be a scene with Wine Wizard, and Yueru will walk away. Follow her in the direction of Liu's house, and join her for a battle. The battle is easy, after several turns the butterfly girl will simply fly away. Exit the garden from the north, the path that was previously blocked by spider web is now open, so enter the forest. This is an annoying dungeon, with similar screens repeating themselves all over, and uninteresting enemies, like spiders and trees. Lots of paths simply lead to dead ends, so be prepared for some backtracking (although the dungeon itself is rather short). At a certain point, you'll be stopped by a big spider. Kill it and proceed, there will be a scene and a double boss battle. The first part is very easy, just have Li Xiaoyao cast a strength-raising spell and attack physically, healing with Yueru when necessary. During the second part, your primary goal is to stay alive, heal every time when your HP drops to around 250, because the boss has a very powerful thunder attack. After you have survived several of such attacks, the battle will end, Wine Wizard interfering and finishing the monster for you. A very beautiful scene follows, and then you'll be treated to a pre-rendered sequence, and taken to the snow mountains.
Rescuing Your Love Enter the house and talk to the old master. Go to the room behind him and examine the necklace on the table. This will lead to a scene, return to the old master and talk to him again. The Wine Wizard will escort you outside, so proceed to the back door and exit. A double dungeon awaits you, certainly one of the more comfortable dungeons in the game. The snow mountain path is very simple, and the enemies there look pretty cool. In the end of the path, step on the yin/yang symbol, and you'll be taken to the second dungeon. This dungeon is a maze, but a much simpler one than the tomb. Step on yin/yang symbols to teleport to new areas, and later step on switches to open barriers between passages. Among the enemies here there are dragons, which can be dangerous, but give excellent experience and money, so be sure to fight each one you meet, and even save/load after fighting them if you want (since enemies re-spawn when you load a saved game).
At some point, you'll see an old man sitting near a switch, there will be a battle and a scene when you talk to him. Continue and soon you'll be in a maze section which has a yin/yang door you cannot open; in the same section there is a vase with a demon. Examine the vase and choose "yes". You set the demon free and he immediately attacks you. Maybe there is a special strategy for this fight I couldn't discover, but for me it was the hardest battle so far. This freak has an insane amount of HP, it takes ages to bring him down, and he casts powerful spells which damage both party members. Before you do anything, have Li Xiaoyao cast his protective spells on both himself and Yueru. I wasted quite some MP-restoring items before I could beat him. Unfortunately, there is no way around this fight (at least none I could find), since you can open that yin/yang door only with the demon's help.
Continue and you'll come across a zombie who asks you a question. All you need to do is to find a book in the same section of the maze. You'll talk to the book wizard, and when you approach the zombie again, the wizard answers his question for you. After that, proceed and you'll finally find Ling'er, although it is hard to recognize her. After a scene, there will be a boss fight. Now, if the battle against the demon was the hardest so far, this is probably the second hardest. You have now three party members, which naturally makes the fight somewhat easier, but the boss has so much HP I was wondering at some point whether it was possible to defeat him at all. He will go down eventually, but prepare for a very long battle. Casting Li Xiaoyao's and Ling'ers defense-raising spell on all party members is a must. You can use Yueru as a support character, constantly supplying MP-restoring items to Ling'er for healing and attack spells.
After the battle, go back and find a place with a whirlpool in the blood, examine the place and you'll wind up in underground dungeon. There are no enemies here, but seven dragon statues. Examining each of those statues leads to a fight, and you must defeat all the dragons in order to advance in the game. The dragons are much easier than the bosses you have fought before, since they have weak points. Each dragon represents a certain element or technique, so use the opposing element to deal double damage (for example, have Ling'er cast lightning spells on a water dragon, water spells on a fire dragon, etc.) In all the fights, first have Li Xiaoyao and Ling'er cast defensive shields on all party members. All dragons are relatively weak to physical attacks, so Li Xiaoyao can deal some serious damage too if you make him cast attack-increasing and double-attack spells on himself. An exception is one dragon who uses physical attacks himself, he takes very little damage from physical attacks and has no weaknesses (at least none I could find), which makes him considerably harder than the other dragons. The absence of random enemies is a big minus, because you can't fight to replenish your MP, so you'll have to use MP-restoring items between the dragon fights. After the last dragon is defeated, there will be a scene with some pre-rendered sequences, and you'll wind up in a completely different place.
The World is Shattered After the tragic scene, you'll be in control of Li Xiaoyao alone. At this point you can visit several locations. First of all, go outside through the front door and find a banana tree near the house; you'll find two bananas nearby. Continue over the bridge and you'll be in a forest with several trees and holes through which you can go. Your goal is to find a tree which leads to many branches and enemies - birds and monkeys. This is the beginning of a very annoying dungeon, probably the most annoying one in the whole game. Like the earlier forest dungeon, it consists of confusingly similar passages and has mainly uninteresting enemies (although fighting monkeys is fun). At some point you'll encounter a little monkey blocking the way, give one of the bananas to him and he will go away. Another such monkey awaits you shortly afterwards, feed him with your second banana. Sometimes you'll find big black birds, examine them and they'll teleport you to a new location. Finally, you'll arrive in front of a nest with an egg, approaching the nest triggers a battle with a phoenix. The phoenix casts powerful magic on you, so first of all cast defensive shield on yourself. Sword techniques barely damage it, so cast attack-increasing and double-attack spells on yourself, and it will go down pretty quickly from your powered physical attacks. After the battle, there will be a scene.
Anu joins your party at this point. Find a hole in a tree which leads to the next dungeon. This dungeon is much more comfortable than the one before, with a much simpler and clearer layout. The enemies are trees and human beings, one kind of trees drops good MP-restoring items, while the human enemies give you excellent experience, so use this place to level up. First, go left and find out the treasure Anu was looking for is not there anymore. Explore the cave, and then find the exit door. Pull the switch and you'll be at the forest clearing near the house.
Now you can enter the Miao settlement, which can be accessed by entering a tree hole in the center. Explore the settlement, buy new weapons and armor. Visit the northeast-most house, this will trigger a conversation. Afterwards, you can enter the lava cave, which is located near the northern exit out of the settlement. This dungeon is very short and simple, and the enemies give decent experience. In the end you'll be confronted by a boss. Have Li Xiaoyao cast his protective spell on both himself and Anu, power him up, and have Anu cast her poison spell. The boss will go down rather quickly. After the scene, backtrack to the entrance, and go north to the temple. Examine the statue there, and after another scene Li Xiaoyao will be taken ten years into the past.
Journey to the Past After the conversation, follow the path and fight two parties of black Miao soldiers. Approach the two guards, and you'll be taken to the sunken city. Walk on the roofs until you witness a scene in front of a palace. Enter the palace and follow the corridor to the northeast. Descend the stairs, and in this new area find the queen. She will ask you to bring an item for you. Return to the main floor, and this time go to the west. Talk to Shizhang Lao, and find the item the queen was talking about on that floor. Return to the queen and talk to her. She will join your party. Now, try to walk away, and you will be stopped, and then teleported to an underwater area. Try to move again, and a boss battle will begin. This boss can be easily defeated with the queen's powerful lightning attack. Explore the dungeon, the enemies here give low experience and are not worth fighting. At a certain point, there will be a scene, and Li Xiaoyao will be teleported outside alone. Continue along the path, and after a short scene you'll have to fight Shizhang Lao. I found this battle quite difficult, this guy has a tremendous amount of HP, strong magic, and is almost unharmed by physical attacks and most sword techniques. Since power-ups are nearly useless here, you'll have to spend lots of MP on summoning the sword god, casting protective shields, and healing, so be ready to spend quite some MP-restoring items. After the battle, you'll be once again teleported.
You'll recognize this place as the one you saw in your dream during the prologue. The only difference is that it is now much larger. The dungeon is rather boring, the enemies give little experience, so your best bet would be to avoid them and to run through, collecting treasure on the way. Finally you'll arrive at exactly the same place where you met the female demon in the beginning of the game. You must fight her again, and this time it is possible to win. The battle is not really hard as long as you keep your protective shield up. After the battle, there will be a surprising scene, followed by a battle. Don't take this battle lightly, and cast your protective shield by all means. When the battle is over, you'll be carried away to the mountain near your home village.
After the conversation with the boy, enter the house (where you met the Wine Wizard in the beginning of your adventure). Talk to the woman and receive the silk from her. Go to the harbor, talk to the person standing on the pier, and select the silk. There will be a scene, and then your aunt will appear and will start looking for the little Li Xiaoyao. Go back to the mountain, and follow the path leading to the mountain side with the beautiful view. Try to open the chest there, and there will be a scene with the little Li Xiaoyao. Return to the harbor and buy a wooden sword for the boy, it is the first weapon in the first store (nearer to the village). Go back and give Li Xiaoyao the sword. Now, return to the harbor and talk to the captain. You'll arrive in Suzhou again, just go towards the city, and there will be another scene, after which you'll return to the Miao settlement and to present day.
Our Love Won't Die Anu will join you and give you the phoenix egg. Return to the house where you left Ling'er, and talk to the old woman. After the following events, the woman will tell you she needs 36 "puppet insects". Those insects are almost always dropped by big scorpions you can fight if you exit from the back door (little scorpions don't give you those insects, only big ones). Proceed along the path and fight a scorpion together with a Miao woman. At this point, Anu will join you again. You can now continue west to reach an area with a complex cave system. Those caves are a huge optional dungeon where you can fight lots of enemies who give you high experience - for example, the beast you've fought in the caves north of Yangzhou appears here as a regular enemy. Among those enemies are also lots of big scorpions, so you can explore the dungeon and gather the required items at the same time. When you have collected enough, return to the house and talk to the old woman. Ling'er will finally join you!
Go to the Miao settlement and you'll see many white and black Miao fighting each other. Help the white Miao and fight some re-spawning black Miao if you want (some of them give pretty good experience), then proceed to the temple and examine the queen statue. After the scene, go to the right part of the temple. You have now all the elemental pearls (on top of your inventory, and also visible as equipment), so stand in front of the square pool at the end of the room, and select those pearls one by one. There is a certain order for those pearls, but if you choose a wrong one, the game will simply refuse to use it, so try another one. Sometimes it is hard to find the exact spot on which you should select the pearls, so circle around the pool and find a different spot. After the last pearl is thrown, there will be a pre-rendered cut-scene. Descend the stairs and fight an easy battle. It's time for the final dungeon of the game.
This dungeon is quite long, but is much more comfortable to navigate than many others you have seen before. The enemies here give very good experience, so use it to level up. Be sure to examine all the treasure chests: in this dungeon you can find the best equipment for all the three heroes. Finally, you'll arrive at a spot with light coming down, stand there and you'll be taken to the palace. There are a lot of high-ranked black Miao enemies in the basement, and they give even better experience than the dungeon foes. After you take the stairs to the first floor, all the enemies disappear.
Go to the throne room and talk to the king. There will be a scene and a relatively easy battle, after which you'll be in control of Li Xiaoyao alone. Leave the throne room and go towards the exit, and you'll be confronted by your ultimate enemy. This battle can last a long time, but if you have a lot of money left, you can safely use Anu's money technique (costs only 1 MP) to inflict serious damage to the enemy. Physical attacks don't work well, so just summon the gods with Li Xiaoyao and Ling'er. Sometimes the boss can seal your magic, immediately use magic-unsealing items or spells (both Li Xiaoyao and Ling'er have them). Overall, this battle is not very difficult.
After the battle, there will be another scene, and you'll find yourself in the underwater area. Continue along the path, and Ling'er will join you. Go around the cell where you and the queen fought the guardian, and prepare for the final battle of the game. The enemy awaits you just to the right of the cell. This battle is more difficult than the previous one. The boss has more HP and stronger attacks, which can hurt you quite a lot even with defensive shields up. But since this is the last battle, you can use all your powerful reviving and MP-restoring items without fear. Anu's money attack is still your primary offensive tool. Physical attacks are rather useless, so have Li Xiaoyao summon the sword god instead, and Ling'er cast all-heal spell or summon her god, if she can afford it.
After the battle, there will be a beautiful and sad pre-rendered sequence, the longest in the game (except the intro). Watch the credits, and you'll be taken to the epilogue. You play the epilogue as the little Wang Xiaohu, the hero of the next Xianjian Qixia Zhuan game. Walk around and talk to people, then go to the harbor and enter the first house in the upper part, talk to the man there. Return to the village and talk to the man who is working near the exit, he will go away. Exit the village and go to the mountain peak, there are no enemies now. Continue to the path with the beautiful view, talk to the girl, and talk two times to Li Xiaoyao. There will be one final scene, and the game will end.
