"So a few things, if you follow my video when you reinstall (you don't have to by the way) then yes you'd be using Double Driver and you'll need that batch file. If you look in the comments section of my video, someone uploaded the drivers from baidu to Mega and I used that on my 8700 and that works as well (it bundles the wifi patch in the bundle). The wifi patch is needed for both the 8700 and the 8750.
When you get your unit just ping me with your BIOS version and if it's the same as mine now, I can tell you which changes to make. Right now, you don't have to touch any *energy* settings within Windows to get the best performance. Just two tweaks to the BIOS (if you have the same version as me) and then you'll be good to go. You should be able to post with my best 3D mark score on cloudgate.
Also, don't take my settings as commandments or anything. You guys should feel free to experiment. It's the whole part of the fun of PC gaming. I'm 100% sure there is still more performance to gain we just need to have the community working at it.
Here is the latest intel driver:

- Ok, so just some quick input from my side as well.
I have the 8700 unit and had crashing graphics drivers as well in the beginning. I then completely wiped and reinstalled my devices using Phawx' reinstall guide and immediately updated the intel hd drivers to the latest version. I've been using the device very intensely for the last 3 days and so far experienced not a single crash anymore. The device is running very smoothly for me.
Funnily enough I had some problems with my microSD card (getting corrupt files after copying etc) but I figured out today that amazon sent me a broken card (Samsung Evo Pro) since these errors occurred on other pcs as well, so I'm just gonna get that exchanged."]

- I'm honestly surprised to see so many people having problems with their devices...
I got my device from dragonbox as well so I don't think it's a batch problem...
I was on a two hour flight yesterday and played Batman arkham asylum from takeoff until landing no problems, no crashes nothing. The device just got a bit hot during that time, but I didn't actually monitor any temps. Crazy good battery as well by the way. My unit went from 100% to 70% in those two hours.
Im currently on the newest intel drivers but still on the older BIOS version with no tweaks made to the BIOS yet so far.
If you need any more info from me, please let me know. I'll do my best to look everything up.
EDIT:
Re5 seems to be on sale right now. I might pick it up tomorrow and give it a quick spin...

- @nex86 I run the 15.40.28.4501 intel gfx drivers
@eragon2890 not sure if you get the same results if you just do the anniversary update through the windows update utility...I did a clean install so I can be sure that everything is right. And sorry, I don't own re5 so I cannot test it for you unfortunately.

@Phawx Where did you get bios updates and drivers ? from intel's page i guess? can you post link here?
I'd also love to know where to get the bios update from as that is next on my list.
Small edit:
I just figured out why my screen suddenly does not rotate anymore after doing a fresh anniversary install on my 8700.
I poked around in the device manager a bit today and found one "Unknown device", after a bit more digging i found out that the device is called "kxfusion", a screen orientation chip used in tablets. Looks like the driver for that device does not get saved by double driver for some reason...
So I guess if you want your screen to rotate again after a fresh install just go and download that missing driver from gpd or elsewhere. I will not do it since I do not want the screen to rotate anyway.
